Chris Lee - Forward, Marquette - Lee, who came to Marquette from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, scored two goals against Valparaiso to contribute to the Golden Eagle 4-0 win that gave Coach Steve Adlard his 100th career victory at the helm of the Marquette program. Adlard recruited Lee to help fill the void created due to the graduation of forward Marshall Morehead who scored 10 goals for the Golden Eagles in 2000. The season is just beginning and Lee is making a solid contribution to the Marquette front line.
Ross Spencer - defender, S.M.U. - Spencer scored the game winning goal against South Carolina off a corner kick. Spencer’s winning goal came with just a little over a minute remaining in the game. He also contributed another goal in the S.M.U. win over the College of Charleston.
Josh Gardner - midfielder, Cincinnati - Gardner is contributing to the young Bearcat attack. He had an assist in the Cincinnati match with Rutgers and for the year to date has had one goal and three assists. Look for Gardner and his teammates to grow stronger as a team as the year progresses.
Julian Nash - forward, Creighton - Nash contributed the assist on the game winner against Maryland in the first round of the Maryland/FILA Classic. He is one of several newcomers on a very talented Bluejay team
Wes Kirk - midfielder, Maryland - Kirk scored the Terps lone goal in the loss to Creighton and contributed an assist in their victory over American University. Kirk fits well into the Maryland style of play and his performance year to date has been solid.
Danny Atwell, midfielder, Fairfield University - Fairfield traveled to Providence to face Brown and came away with a 1-0 victory. Atwell tallied the game winner for the Stags.
Dan Ferriter, midfielder, Davidson - Ferriter is playing well for a Davidson Wildcat team that is looking pretty good so far this year. Ferriter tallied two goals in the Davidson win Sunday over Army. About Ferriter, Davidson head coach Matt Spears stated: “We’re very excited for Dan Ferriter, who has played well and made an immediate impact on the program.”
Luke Kreamalmeyer, midfielder, Bradley - Bradley had never defeated Northern Illinois on the road and had dropped their last six matches to them. Kreamalmeyer got a big goal for the Braves off an assist from All-American Gavin Glinton to get Bradley on the board first. The Braves got the win as Kreamalmeyer and fellow teammates got over a big hurdle and ended the string of defeats to Northern Illinois.
Clint Baumstark, goalkeeper, U.A.B. – Baumstark recorded his third straight shutout between the pipes for the Blazers who are 3-0-0 to date.
Peter Withers, midfielder, Ohio State - Withers collected his first collegiate goal in the Buckeyes 4-0 win over Bowling Green. Look for more to come.
Darrin Domingo, defender, Portland - Domingo played brilliantly over the weekend helping the surprising Portland Pilots to come to life and get big wins over William and Mary 3-2 and Indiana University 1-0.
Kyle Hartman, forward, Lehigh - Hartman scored twice in his first collegiate game and then added three assists in Lehigh’s win over Buffalo. He also added a key assist in Lehigh’s 3-2 overtime win over Penn.
Dan Ferriter, midfielder, Davidson - Ferritier scored two goals in the Wildcats win over Army. Davidson is off to a great start in 2001 with help from its new recruits.
Danny O’Rourke, midfielder/defender, Indiana - O’Rourke is one of several excellent freshmen at Indiana. He played well in the Indiana win over Washington and has shown that he deserves to be on the field.
Matt Janusz, forward, Stanford - Janusz is one of many Cardinal freshmen who have seen action this year so far. Janusz scored a goal in Stanford’s 3-1 win over C.S. Fullerton. He has started three games year to date and has tallied an assist. You can count on him contributing to the Stanford attack this year. |
